Safety Instrumented System Compliance Case Study 1 – Safety Instrumented System Design
IEC were asked to complete a full safety instrumented system design for a critical process plant for a blue chip national company. The design scope involved functional and operational plant instrument design together with safety critical control loop design. Following allocation of the system SIL rating in order to achieve the required risk reduction factor, IEC completed the full alarm and trip instrument plant design to the required SIL rating and verified the design with reliability calculations.
